Ian Sklarsky and his agent, Debbie Bacher spent the morning with show hosts Katlego Maboe, Ewan Strydom and Leigh Anne Williams last Friday. The level of professionalism and fun was off the charts. Ian was asked to draw guest singer Nevio Passaro. The blind contour method was put to the test when Ian was also asked to draw their mascot, a french bull dog. All 3 dogs gate crashed the scene, all the while Ian answered questions by Katlego on live television. Not only does this prove that Ian has really harnessed the concept of blind contour, but also wins him the status of mutli-tasker of note! Ian is well known for bringing an incredibly personalized element to brand activations and VIP events. Josie Borain and I met up with Roddy Quin of Real Concerts at quaint Rose Cottage to shoot the publicity images for South Africa's rising star, actress Kim Engelbrecht. The setting seemed a little subtle seeing as the last time I saw Kim, she was running around a desolate landscape with a semi automatic weapon, in the American action TV series Dominion. Kim arrived and as the day progressed, we found Kim to be fun and down to earth, which is a rare commodity for actresses who have worked with legends like Colin Firth and Helen Mirren. Josie Borain is the go-to photographer in South Africa for local and international actors and celebrities. She has photographed actor Jared Leto and actress Taryn Manning for Interview Magazine, and, being a celebrity herself, has documented countless high profile individuals over the years.
